Let's Play 280

A quieter hour of indoor play for children who prefer a slower pace and fewer sensory distractions.

What they offer:

Let’s Play opens early for a calmer, sensory-friendly hour before regular play begins. The music is turned off, the crowd is smaller, and children can explore the slides, tunnels, climbing areas, ninja course, and toddler space with fewer sensory distractions.

What to know:

Sensory Morning is held on the first Saturday of every month from 9–10 a.m. Admission is $13.99 plus tax per child. Socks are required, and children must be supervised by a parent or guardian. Complete the waiver before arriving if possible. Complimentary admission is occasionally provided by a community sponsor, but it is not guaranteed. Check Let’s Play Birmingham’s social media before visiting in case the schedule or admission details have changed.

Our experience:

We have arrived at Sensory Morning several times to discover that a generous individual or nonprofit has covered admission for the first twenty or so children through the door. It is an unexpectedly lovely way to begin the morning.

The music is off, the space is far less crowded, and—perhaps most importantly—you are surrounded by parents who get it. There is less pressure to explain your child, apologize for a difficult moment, or worry that someone will misunderstand what they are seeing. Everyone can simply play.
